Grapeseed Oil – Lightweight Carrier Oil for Skin, Hair & Massage

Our cold-pressed Grapeseed Oil is a lightweight, versatile carrier oil valued for its silky texture, easy spreadability and relatively fast absorption into the skin.  Extracted from the seeds of grapes (Vitis vinifera), it is naturally rich in linoleic acid (Omega-6), an essential fatty acid that helps support the skin's moisture barrier.

Its light consistency makes it particularly popular in facial oils, body oils, massage blends and haircare formulations. It is also an excellent choice for professional massage therapists and spas looking for an oil that provides smooth glide without an excessively heavy or greasy finish.

Grapeseed Oil can be used on its own or blended with other carrier oils, making it suitable for home skincare enthusiasts, cosmetic formulators and commercial manufacturers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Grapeseed Oil good for oily or acne-prone skin?

Grapeseed Oil is a lightweight carrier oil that is often preferred in formulations for oily and combination skin. It contains linoleic acid, which helps support the skin's moisture barrier. Its relatively non-greasy feel makes it suitable for facial oils and moisturisers, although individual responses may vary, particularly with acne-prone skin.

Can Grapeseed Oil be used directly on the face?

Yes. Grapeseed Oil can be applied directly to the skin or blended with other carrier oils. Apply a few drops to clean, slightly damp skin, or incorporate it into facial serums, cleansing oils and moisturisers.

What makes Grapeseed Oil ideal for massage?

Grapeseed Oil is a popular choice for massage because of its lightweight texture, smooth glide and relatively non-greasy finish. It spreads easily over the skin, providing good lubrication without feeling excessively heavy.

Its skin-conditioning properties make it suitable for full-body massages, spa treatments and aromatherapy blends. It can be used on its own or combined with oils such as Sweet Almond and Macadamia Nut Oil for a richer massage experience.

What oils blend well with Grapeseed Oil?

Grapeseed Oil blends beautifully with Sweet Almond, Macadamia Nut, Jojoba, Rosehip and Castor Oils. Combining different oils allows you to adjust the richness, spreadability and overall skin feel of your formulation.

Can Grapeseed Oil be used in soapmaking?

Yes. Grapeseed Oil can be incorporated into cold-process and hot-process soap recipes. It contributes conditioning properties but is generally used at modest percentages alongside oils and butters that provide hardness and stability.

Because it is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, using excessive amounts may increase the risk of oxidation and rancidity in finished soap.

Can Grapeseed Oil be used in haircare products?

Yes. Grapeseed Oil is suitable for hair oils, conditioners, scalp treatments and hair masks. Its lightweight texture helps soften hair and add shine without the heaviness of richer oils. It can also be blended with Castor Oil or other conditioning oils.

Can I buy Grapeseed Oil in bulk?

Yes. Isivuno Naturals supplies Grapeseed Oil to DIY makers, small skincare businesses, massage therapists, spas and commercial cosmetic manufacturers.

We offer small and bulk quantities with no minimum order requirement. For larger wholesale or manufacturing volumes beyond those listed online, please contact our team to discuss your requirements.

It's too streaky

This probably does what it is supposed to do but it is too thin.

Hi Thandolwethu, thank you for your feedback.
Grapeseed oil is naturally quite light and thin, and that’s actually one of the reasons it is universally preferred or used for for massage — it gives such a lovely slip and glide without feeling too heavy on the skin. But I completely understand that you may prefer a richer, more substantial oil, like Olive oil, or avocado oil, which have a richer, fuller skin feel than Grapeseed oil.

I Love how the oil absorbs into my hairline

I Love how the oil absorbs into my hairline, it’s not heavy and smells good. I use it mostly for my hot oil treatments and this is the best oil I’ve used by far.
